Alphabet Song

The children practised the alphabet and sang the song on their own.

Body Parts

Year Five started to learn the vocabulary for different body parts. We stood up and moved around giving each body part an action so we could remember the word better. We had a great time and even discussed masculine, feminine and plural starters.

French Food Day

Slideshow Video

Last week, we had a great food day. We had baguettes, pate, roule, brie and even snails!

The children really gave the food a go and I have to say, I was immensely proud of the children who tried to eat snails. Even Miss Walker!

Year Three shared some of their counting. They had played games and had come to me without any notes to see if they could say (or sometimes shout) the numbers out.

We danced, ran, jumped, hopped and skipped our way to counting to ten. The children were fantastic with their counting and after that, we talked and wrote about our ages.

Y5 Art in French

Learning new vocabulary can be… a little repetitive. So, we had the children draw the different weathers using the words of them. There were some absolutely brilliant ones as you’ll see!

Ça coute…

The children of Year Four today practised a short conversation asking and telling how much an item of food is. They were a bit nervous, but they did a lovely job.

Ça va?

This week, the children have been trying really hard to improve their speaking. After practising their speech, they had themselves recorded.

Happy European Day of Languages!

Zdravo!

We hope you’re well. Today, the children will be doing different activities based on different European languages. We’re joining in with a t-shirt designing competition (prizes are available!) and lots of other language studies from around the continent.

Vaarwel!

Our First Week

At Leamore, we’ve had a wonderful first week. From Year Six learning about how French numbers change after seventy (60 10, who’d have thought it?) to the Year Threes learning how to greet people around the school. It’s so exciting to see the start and final parts of our children’s journey in language learning.
